BroadBand Light (BBL)™ in Orlando
At Park Avenue Plastic Surgery in Orlando, BroadBand Light (BBL)™ offers a non-invasive way to enhance skin tone, texture, and overall radiance. Using targeted light energy, BBL™ addresses damaged skin cells and stimulates collagen, creating a naturally refreshed appearance.
What Is BroadBand Light (BBL)™?
BroadBand Light (BBL)™ treatment gently heats the upper layers of your skin using light energy. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas stimulates your skin cells to regenerate. The photothermal energy eliminates fine vessels that cause redness and reduces unwanted melanin that produces age and sun spots.
Your skin will feel smoother, pores will be less noticeable, and uneven pigmentation will fade. This corrective process will restore your skin to natural beauty, making it clearer, smoother, vibrant, and younger-looking.
Benefits of BBL™ Treatment
BBL treatment offers benefits for those looking to enhance their skin. Here are some primary advantages:
- Non-invasive: BBL is a non-surgical treatment, meaning no incisions, stitches, or recovery time.
- Practical for various skin types: BBL is effective across many skin types and can be personalized to unique skin needs.
- Minimal downtime: With little to no recovery time, you can return to daily activities immediately after treatment.
- Long-lasting results: Regular BBL treatments can slow the visible signs of aging by stimulating collagen production.
Skin Conditions Treated with BBL™
BBL laser treatment is effective for skin issues, including:
- Sun damage and hyperpigmentation: BBL addresses sun spots and other pigmentation issues by targeting melanin in the skin.
- Fine lines and wrinkles: The treatment encourages collagen production, which can reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
- Acne and acne scars: BBL helps minimize active acne and can fade scars from previous breakouts.
- Rosacea and redness: BBL can reduce redness by targeting dilated blood vessels, especially for conditions like rosacea.
- Freckles and age spots: This treatment helps lighten dark spots, leading to a smoother, more even skin tone.
Is BBL™ Right for You?
BBL may be a great choice if you’re looking for a non-invasive solution to address skin concerns such as discoloration, redness, or early signs of aging. It’s suitable for both men and women and can be personalized, depending on the skin condition being treated.
What to Expect During the Treatment
BBL treatments are relatively quick and often completed in 30-45 minutes, depending on the treatment areas. A handheld device delivers short light pulses to the target areas during the session. You may experience a slight warming sensation, but BBL is generally well-tolerated. Some patients describe it as a rubber band snapping against the skin.
BBL™ Treatment Aftercare
After your treatment, mild redness or a slight sunburn-like sensation may occur, which fades within a few hours to a day. Avoid direct sun exposure and use sunscreen diligently to protect your skin and prolong your results. The full effects of the BBL treatment will continue to develop over the next few weeks as your skin renews.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments needed will vary from patient to patient and your clinician will personalize a treatment plan based on your needs and desired outcome.
What will happen during the procedure?
The procedure is typically gentle and safe. Generally, there is no need for a topical anesthetic; however, your clinician may choose to use it. Your eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses. You may briefly feel a warm or “rubber band snap” sensation as the light is absorbed by the targeted areas. Your procedure may take as little as a few minutes depending on the size of the area to be treated and the type of procedure performed. Your clinician will discuss all of your options with you including the benefits, risks and what to expect.
What should I expect after the treatment?
You may experience some redness that should resolve within a few hours. Consult your clinician if it does not. For some spots, you will see a darkening of the treated areas followed by fading and flaking off at a later stage. Results depend on your skin type, the number of treatments, and the area treated.
How long will It take to recover and What aftercare procedure should I follow?
This is a non-invasive and typically gentle procedure with virtually no downtime. In most cases, you are able to return to work, and resume most of your activities immediately. Your clinician will provide you with more information on what to expect as well as give you an aftercare plan to follow that will involve avoiding direct sun exposure and using sunscreen.
